Easter Meditation

Alleluia, the Lord is Risen! The Lord is Risen Indeed!
In reflection of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Easter season, my memory goes back to teaching the young children in Sunday school about the Resurrection. The butterfly, which has long been a symbol of resurrection, was readily accepted and understood by the young minds. The fact that it disappears into a cocoon and later emerges far more beautiful and powerful made so much sense to the children.
Lenten Reflection 2008
The Lenten season is a time for meaningful prayer, reflection, self-examination, personal adjustment and renewal. When we check our life's spiritual direction, we may ask ourselves these questions, "Where do I stand at the beginning of another Lent? Have I grown spiritually since last year? How am I living faithfully?"
Prayer for the Start of Day
A Prayer for Hurricane Season
As decided at the 2006 Annual Meeting, the Epiphany Gift for 2007 ($2,000) went to Camp Coast Care, a mission point of Lutheran Episcopal Services in Mississippi. Camp Coast Care, currently, primarily funded by Episcopal Relief and Development, continues to provide volunteer support for the rehabilitation of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since Hurricane Katrina destroyed the area in 2005.
