The Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Western North Carolina have invited their sisters in Christ in the Diocese of North Carolina to join them at their 85th Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 13, 2007.
The meeting (starting time to be announced soon) will take place on the St. Peter's Lane campus of Thompson Child & Family Focus in Matthews. Yes, this is located immediately outside Charlotte within the Diocese of North Carolina. But it all fits, you see, because the theme of the meeting comes from Matthew 18:5, "Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me."
Ginny Amendum, president of Thompson Child & Family Focus, which is affiliated with all the Episcopal churches of North Carolina, will be the keynote speaker. Following her speech, Ginny will lead a tour of the campus so everyone can see what their prayers and donations have supported throughout the years. Our recently retired Suffragan Bishop, Gary Gloster, will be the celebrant at the Holy Eucharist and will install the newly elected officers of the WNC ECW.
The registration fee for the women of our diocese has been waived. The meeting will conclude with lunch. Boxed lunches will cost $10.
