The Rev. Hershey Mallette Stephens is Dean of the Chapel and Spiritual Life at St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A native North Carolinian and third generation Episcopalian, Hershey was baptized and raised at St. Ambrose Church in Raleigh. She was educated at North Carolina A&T State University and Howard University before graduating from General Theological Seminary.

Most recently, Hershey worked in the Presiding Bishop’s Office of Evangelism, where she was Project Lead for the Beloved Community Storysharing Campaign. This work afforded her the joy and opportunity to hear stories of faith, grace, and discovery from Episcopalians of all ages and backgrounds from around the country.

All Saints’ Garden

Saint Augustine's, a private historically black college, was founded by Episcopal clergy in 1867 for the education of freed slaves.

After registration you will be invited to make a love donation to the chapel to mark the life and work of Dr. Irving Pressley McPhail, the 12th President of Saint Augustine’s University. The Episcopal/Anglican students, who will design and plant a garden of remembrance, hope to raise $1,500 for costs associated with the garden. (To learn more about Dr. McPhail, click here.)

Regardless of whether or not you will be attending Annual Meeting, if you wish to make an offering towards the garden, click here to go to the donation page.
